學(xué)院緊貼社會(huì )需求辦學(xué)，注重培養學(xué)生的實(shí)踐動(dòng)手能力，為學(xué)生創(chuàng )造了優(yōu)越的實(shí)習實(shí)訓條件，建有校內實(shí)驗實(shí)訓室68個(gè)，校外實(shí)習、就業(yè)基地100余個(gè)。為營(yíng)造良好的語(yǔ)言學(xué)習環(huán)境，學(xué)院還專(zhuān)門(mén)建起了功能全面的多語(yǔ)種外語(yǔ)自主學(xué)習中心（包括400余座的開(kāi)放性外語(yǔ)自主學(xué)習室、同聲傳譯實(shí)訓室、教學(xué)錄播廳、教學(xué)影視觀(guān)摩廳、境外廣播電視衛星接收站等）。

學(xué)院組建富有經(jīng)驗的“雙師型”教師隊伍，現有教師近400多名，副高以上職稱(chēng)占35％，80％以上教師擁有碩士以上學(xué)位，擁有11位“楚天技能名師”。為加強外語(yǔ)教學(xué)，體現國際化辦學(xué)特色，學(xué)院聘請了來(lái)自美國、英國、澳大利亞、日本、韓國等國家十多名專(zhuān)職外籍教師進(jìn)行外語(yǔ)教學(xué)。

學(xué)院堅持開(kāi)放辦學(xué)，與英國、澳大利亞、美國、日本、韓國、西班牙等國家以及臺灣地區的高等院校開(kāi)展合作辦學(xué)，學(xué)生在校期間可選送到上述高校短期交流學(xué)習，畢業(yè)后可以申請到上述合作院校繼續深造本科和碩士，已有300多名學(xué)生通過(guò)國際合作辦學(xué)渠道，走出國門(mén)，提升學(xué)歷層次。
